* What do you do/ what services do you offer at Plates & Palates?

We serve prepared fresh daily soups, salads, panini sandwiches and
desserts available for dine-in or takeout. We also offer catering with a
full menu featuring everything from appetizers, entrees, desserts and
more.

Pick up, delivery, or full service options are available to suit any
budget.

You can also many items you need for your own kitchen in out
retail kitchenwares section. We also have a nice selection of specialty
foods such as sauces, mixes, oils, vinegars, jams, pasta & more.


*Do you take reservations?

No, tables are first come, first serve. You can call ahead for
larger parties and we will do our best accommodate you as
quickly as possible



*What kinds of events do you cater?

We can cater any event large or small up to 500 people such as
weddings, showers, luncheons, breakfasts, business meetings, private
dinners, funerals or anything else you need! We can deliver/ provide service the Wasatch Front from Ogden
to Provo.



*What is the average cost per person to cater an event?

Since there are so many variables from menu choice to service it is best to  look over the menus in the
catering section and then call for a consultation appointment. We can then give you a quote at your
appointment. For events under 100 people and that are pick-up or delivery we can help you over the phone.
Please see the “Wedding/ private party guidelines and hints” section under catering for details and hints to
help you choose your menu, amounts and other FAQ’s regarding on site service for larger events.

*What are the wedding rules and hints?

- Please review the guidelines and hints as well as menus, then call for an appointment

- Your date will not be saved until we receive a $ 400 deposit and the menu- final numbers and quantities are
not needed until 10 days before the event. Deposit is non-refundable

- We offer pick up, delivery or on site service. Service charges for on site will vary depending on the menu
and services requested. Please call to schedule a consultation.

- Payment in full is required for pick up or delivery events 10 days prior. Events with on site service
will need to pay in full for food 10 days prior, and then service charges are due within 2 days after
event. In the event of cancellation within 5 days on events scheduled for full onsite service, the entire balance
will be owed, including  estimated service.

- Consider fridge, oven space available and weather when deciding what items you choose.
Example: do not have 400 chicken salad sandwiches and 10 cheesecakes when there is only 1  fridge, or 20
pans of lasagna with 1 oven.

- Plate, glass, silverware & table linen service is available for up to 100 for onsite service events for an
additional rental fee.

- You must provide tables, chairs  and decorations.

- Don’t forget flower arrangements for food table, please plan on having 2 extra tablecloths on hand for the
food table, and please have an extra handful of flowers for decorating serving pieces.

- For on site events we offer traditional pewter or white modern serving pieces

- If you are on a tight budget-Keep it simple, too many choices usually lead to your guests wanting to try one
of everything- thus you will need more food, costing you more
We suggest 1 sandwich choice, 1 entree, 1-3 desserts, 1-2 salads ect.

- Pricing subject to change at any time

- Disposable items are included for pick up and delivery orders.

- We are not licenced to serve alcohol.

- When planning on how much food to order- a 40%- 50% turn out is excellent, 35% is usual
Example: If you send out 500 invitations (assuming 2 people per invite) a turnout of 400 would be excellent,
but realisticly

- You are welcome to taste any items AT YOUR APPOINTMENT, please do not  come in during lunch requesting
samples. You may request a few items to taste at your consultation, or you may order something to take home
and share with your family (whole dessert, entrees, etc..) if you want to try it.

- If we are providing the on site service, we can absolutely not serve any outside food or food you or other
vendors have made- no exceptions. Wedding cake is allowed, and we will help cut and serve it

- Full service includes food set up, serving pieces, servers, refilling food table/drink, clearing tables and
clean up of food tables, kitchen. We can not have children or “neighbors” helping to serve the food
due to liability issues
